AI & Natural Stupidity – How Not to Use AI

BIP ID: 2025-1-FI01-KA131-HED-000320384-5
Participants: students
Location (city, country): Pori, Finland
Main teaching language: English
Number of ECTS credits awarded: 3
Physical start and end date: August 24-28th 2026
Virtual component timing: Before
Virtual component description: August 19th, general introduction and get to meet your group members
Objectives and description:
Artificial Intelligence is transforming how we learn, work, and make decisions—but are we using it wisely?

This Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) invites students to step beyond technical skills and engage with one of the most pressing challenges of our time: ethical decision-making and critical thinking in the age of AI.
At the heart of the programme is a strong focus on developing students’ moral reasoning. Our moral judgement is not fixed—it evolves as we encounter new real-life contexts and situations. AI introduces not only a powerful new tool, but also entirely new types of dilemmas.
Through carefully designed, real-life AI scenarios, participants will:
• Identify situations where values come into conflict
• Question assumptions, evaluate AI outputs, and detect bias or weak reasoning
• Work through structured moral reasoning processes
• Collaboratively develop ethical guidelines for AI use
Students will gain insight into why ethical guidelines are necessary, while also understanding their limitations—because real-world situations rarely fit neatly into predefined rules.
Importantly, this programme does not aim to provide simple answers. Instead, it prepares students for reality: situations where moral dilemmas persist despite guidelines. By engaging with these complexities, participants will strengthen their ability to make thoughtful, responsible decisions and develop a deeper awareness of the ethical challenges surrounding AI.
Because the real question isn’t just what AI can do—
but how we choose to use it.
Methods and outcomes: Workshops and in class assignments.

Internationalisation in Language Courses in Higher Education

We are pleased to announce our upcoming Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) on Internationalisation in Language Courses in Higher Education, designed for teaching staff of language centres at European universities and universities of applied sciences.

The programme offers an opportunity to exchange ideas, develop strategies, and design innovative approaches to integrating international perspectives into language teaching. Participants will work collaboratively across institutions and disciplines – both online and during a one-week on-site phase at our university.
In a time shaped by rapid technological change, AI-driven transformation, and global uncertainty, the internationalisation of the language classroom offers a meaningful way to strengthen collaboration, openness, and resilience across higher education.
