Study Abroad

Semester abroad/study abroad programme (part-time training) 
Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) is happy to welcome students from all over the world for one semester long Study Abroad programme. Students can choose courses from all faculties as BME offers a wide range of courses in English language. Students can collect ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) credit points for successfully accomplised courses ECTS.
For applications to be valid, students need to be nominated by their home institution and students have to submit their online registration. 
Nominations by sending institutions are accepted for a full academic year (fall and spring semester) but students’ online applications and online course registration can be submitted always only for the coming one semester.

Late applications are NOT accepted!
Tuition fee:
Non-EU students: 3200€ + 100€ registration fee/term
EU students: 2250€ + 100€ registration fee/term
Nomination (except for freemovers) sent by your home institution's coordinator VIA EMAIL ( should reach us before you start application procedure!
Application procedure
Only online applications can be processed. All applications sent via email or via regular mail will be rejected.
Online application is be available from 1st April.

Application documents to upload to the online application:
1. Copy of your valid passport (or national ID for EU citizens)
2. Transcript of academic records (official list of your courses and grades taken in your home institution) from sending institution. Only English version is accepted.
3. Exchange student form - compulsory for Civil engineering applicants
4. Letter of declaration: please see Thesis/Project/Research below
5. Proof of Language Proficiency (only if your mother tongue is not English) - any certificate proving at least B2 level in CEFR is accepted (please upload it your online application)

Students submitting (and finalizing!) their applications
- by 14th April will receive their letters of acceptance by 26th April.
- by 15th May will receive their letters of acceptance by 31st May.
Subject registration (from only the subjects of the Course Offer!!!): 31st May - 12th June
List of departmental coordinators
Students who apply for thesis project, research or any other project work have to find a supervisor for their project before their arrival and have their supervisor's written declaration. If no such written approval is acquired by the students from a supervisor prior to their arrival, there is no possibility to do it during mobility. Thesis/research/final projects have to be agreed upon always prior to arrival only, i.e. in the written DECLARATION of a relevant supervisor to be attached to the online application. Faculties and departments of BME
We can only assist the incoming students in finding accommodation. Private accommodation (rented room/apartment) are available for 300-400€+utilities/month depending on location and comfort. ESN BME (ERASMUS Student Network, runs a temporary office assisting students with finding and arranging accommodation at the beginning of the semesters.
