Ceepus Student mobility

Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) is a CEEPUS participating partner institution. Within the CEEPUS framework program BME welcomes student at all levels/cycles (undergraduate, graduate, PhD) for a regular semester activity (part-time mobility) or a short-term student mobility. CEEPUS Student Mobility Scholarship to BME is open for students (with active student status) enrolled to an eligible university of CEEPUS member countries (Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, the Slovak Republic, Slovenia) who have completed at least two semesters until the mobility period.

There are two ways to submit CEEPUS mobility application:

Within a CEEPUS network*

If your home institution is part of a CEEPUS network that has a relevant scientific topic for you and the partner institution of which is BME. The call for applications will be published by your home institution. The application will be approved (including carrying out of the selection) first by the local network coordinator, both the home and host institutions’ network coordinator should nominate the application. After nomination and awaiting for the awarded status, your application will pass through the home national CEEPUS Office, the local BME network coordinator and finally the host National Agency, NCO Hungary.

As Freemover

If your home institution is not part of a CEEPUS network that has a relevant scientific topic for you, you can choose to submit a Freemover application. Freemover mobility applications go through the home and host National CEEPUS Offices only. You will have contact Department of International Relations of BME which unit is responsible for the CEEPUS mobility coordination at BME. Key documents required from the applicant: 2 letters of recommendation (issued by lecturers of the home institution), transcript of academic records, proof of language qualification, copy of BSc degree certificate.

Hungarian National CEEPUS Office launches call for applications for the CEEPUS FREEMOVER mobility scholarship for the spring semester (1st February, 2021 – 31st August 2021.) in the academic year 2020/2021.

Applications are accepted only from the CEEPUS member countries: Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, the Slovak Republic and Slovenia.
Applicants with Hungarian citizenship or Hungarian place of residence cannot be considered.

Before concluding the scholarship agreement and starting the mobility, it is the scholarship holder’s responsibility to learn about Hungary’s all-time effective entry and pandemic regulations, the guidelines of the sending and the receiving institution, as well as to check the readiness of the receiving institution. Submission deadlines for CEEPUS STUDENT mobility applications:

  • Network mobility for the winter/first semester: 15th June 
  • Network mobility for the summer/second semester: 31st October
  • Freemover mobility for the winter/first semester: continuously, usually starting on 1st July, open until availability
  • Freemover mobility for the summer/second semester: 30th November

Amount of scholarship 118 000 HUF / month (approx. 340 EUR)
